1st./4th. (Territorial) Battalion, Devonshire Regiment. Born 1886 in Newton Abbot, Devon. Died of Dysentery on Monday 16th. December 1918, aged 32, while serving with the Native Labour Force in Baquba. Buried in Baghdad (North Gate) War Cemetery, Iraq, Plot I, Row C, Grave 11. Son of the late William and Maria Causey. John was 1 of only 3 Servicemen with the surname “Causey” to have Fallen during The Great War, and is also commemorated on the Newton Abbot War Memorial.
