VICTOR OSWALD HOARE was serving as a Private in the 1/6th Battalion, The Royal Warwickshire Regiment when he was accidentally killed on the 12th February 1917. He was aged 23 and is buried in Assevillers New British Cemetery in the Somme region. 

He was the son of Harry Busson, who died in 1910 and Agnes Hoare, living with his grandparents at of 9 Market Street, Chipping Norton after both his parents died. He was a cloth washers assistant before the war. 

The Battalion arrived in France on 15th May 1915 as part of the 143rd Brigade, 48th (South Midland) Division. They saw action in various phases of the Battle of the Somme from 1st July 1916. H was in the trenches when he was killed and another soldier wounded in an accident.
