Robert Moon Brand was born on 18 Oct 1890 at Runham Vauxhall, Great Yarmouth and christened on 21 Dec 1890. He was one of 8 children born to William George Brand and Mary Elizabeth nee Morris.

On 5th Oct 1911 he married 18 year old Edith May Mallows at Great Yarmouth Register Office.

Robert and Edith had 2 children Stanley(1912) and Gwendoline.(1915)

Robert enlisted at the beginning of the War and his records have survived. He was 5ft 6 3/4 inches and weighed in at 126 llbs. His complexion was fresh, his eyes hazel and his hair brown.

Robert was killed on 1 July 1916.  At the time of his death his younger brother Bertie was serving in France whilst his elder brother William was based on Home Service.

I am proud to say that Robert Moon Brand was my Great Great Uncle.
