Albert Ball is a well-remembered soldier and airman from WW1. His story is all over the Internet. However, his bust is in the grounds of Nottingham Castle and when I went there in the late 1970's as an Army Cadet I remember being fascinated by the fact that he was only slightly older than me when he joined the Army at 16 and when he died he was only 19 years of age. Sadly the same can be said for many of those who died during this war.
