Although John Wright was his name on his birth certificate, he took his stepfather's surname as a teenager and was known to the family as Jack Lancaster. The full story of Jack's contribution to WW1 can be found in Paul Allen's book 'Neath a Foreign Sky' which unfortunately is currently out of print.
