Owen William White was born in 1891 in High Wycombe and was my great-uncle. He joined the Bucks Territorials around May 1915. He was killed - being shot through the head, on a reconnaissance mission of the German front line, near Pozieres, France, whilst endeavouring to rescue a wounded comrade. His older brother Albert was killed just over a year earlier near Ypres.
