He died from exhaustion due to his having been plunged in the North Sea when the steamer Constantia was sunk by an explosion off Robin Hood's Bay - Certificate from George Buchannan Coroner "His body was found and brought home to Llansantffraed Churchyard to be buried. The service was on a Sunday afternoon with the church overfull - every corner, and large crowds outside, never such a crowd it was stated at Llanon.
