Here is my name on Thiepval stone, A headstone I have none. My family a telegram they got to say that, I am gone. Killed in action on the Somme.

My family mourned and thought of me,but alas none came to see,my final resting place for ever too be.They said prayersand cried a lot.Not knowing where I had died.

In the mud and rain, the lead it came. to kill and maim. The orders came the whistles shrilled over the top we we scrambled and were killed.

Your duty done last post is tollled rest in peace with comrades old.
