Im sad to say that we dont know much of his story, but all we have, we share. He worked for Cadburys in Bournville Birmingham, before enlisting with the 6th Dorsetshire regiment . Ive heard tales that Cadburys were good at looking after their former workers sending them blankets , chocolate and books . Leonard was killed in action in February 1916 just 6 months before his big brother William . We have seen a snipet of a letter from his officer saying how fond he was of him and what a good , hard worker he was and how he would be sorely missed by himself and the battalion.. Leonard died instantly where he fell . ...he was 19 .
