He died on 30/11/1917, Aged 31. He was due to come home and his wife, Elizabeth, was celebrating his homecoming by buying their daughters red coats. Sadly these had to be changed to black when they discovered he had died. He was survived by three daughters, Bridget, Mary, Margaret and a son, Jack.
