I am commerating my Great, Great Uncle on my maternal side. Having entered the western theatre of war on 26/7/15 he would be killed in action within 5 months on the Somme, exactly one week before christmas on Dec 18th. To think what his family would go through knowing a loved one had died at christmas. Posthumously awarded with the 1915 Star, he left behind a loving wife, Margaret and 5 year old daughter, Susan.
