While researching my family tree, I came across Thomas Henry Baller. The following tells about his short life- Thomas was born in Birmingham on 25 July 1891 and Baptised on 16th July 1891. His father was Henry Baller and his mother Florence. His wife was Florrie Hughes. He grew up in Birmingham and enlisted in The Royal Warwickshire Regiment, "B" Coy 10th Battalion. His number was 16662. He was killed in action on the Somme 3rd July 1916. He has no known grave and is remembered on the Thiepvel Memorial. His sister was Florence Elizabeth Baller and she married Thomas Edward Allen. (He was the younger brother of my Grandfather.) He was killed in action on the Somme 10days later on 23rd July 1916. She lost a brother and a husband in one moth, and I wander at times how did she cope?
