Private Archibald Lamond died in a German Field Hospital near Douai on April 16, 1917. He was the last of the Lamond male line in our family. His sister, Jemima, named my father, her first born, for him. Now in Los Angeles, my grandson Triston plays bag-pipes and will be wearing a kilt in Lamont (Lamond) tartan, a birthday present from us. Triston's choice!
