Private Peter Watt MM
Peter was the 3rd son of William and Margaret Watt and was born in 1897 at Mosside, Counteswells, Aberdeenshire.
He enlisted in the 7th BN Gordon Highlanders early in 1914.
Peter was awarded the Military Medal during he service in France and Flanders but unfortunately he was killed at the Battle of Ancre, Beaumont Hamel on 13th November 1916, aged just 18.
Peter was survived by several brothers and sisters. His elder brother William J Watt who served with him in the Gordon Highlanders became the regimental piper and lived into his 80s after emigrating to Canada.
