Robert Anderson Rae was the son of Robert Anderson Rae and Elizabeth Forester Readdie who were from Edinburgh.Robert junior was born 1883 St Quivox,Ayr,Scotland and was married to Edith Ellen Scottow.The Anderson middle name comes from his grandmother Janet Anderson from North Queensferry,Fife to whom I am related through her brother Andrew.Robert's brother Bruce Anderson Rae also fought at Gallipoli and died there in August 1915

 aged 17.
