John Eugene Ramsay was a Private with the 33rd Battalion AIF. He enlisted on the 30th June 1916 and embarked from Sydney on 17th October 1916 onboard HMAT A30 'Borda'.

He died from a gunshot wound to the head that was self inflicted on 15th July 1918. He was suffering from severe depression.

He is buried in Pernois British Cemetery. Plot II, Row E, Grave Number 15.
