Captain Herbert Humphreys Hunter was a resident of Trinity College, Melbourne from 1903-1904.

He became a dentist in Bendigo before enlisting with the 7th Battalion.

During the Second battle for Krithia on the 8th May 1915 he was wounded whilst advancing, then hit a second time and killed whilst trying to return to the Australian line.

Such was the severity of the fighting that his body wasn't recovered and he, along with most other casualties from this battle, is commemorated on the Helles Memorial.

I will visit this memorial on 21st April 2015 and will lay a floral tribute in memory of your sacrifice.
