Richard William PIZZEY was born in Sunbury in late 1899.   So only 18 when he was killed. Sadly his eldest brother, Private 8355 James Thomas PIZZEY age 25 was also killed during the 1st World War and commemorated on this site.

They were two of ten children born to James and Martha PIZZEY Nee BARR. 

1911 census sees them living at Sillwoods Cottages, Nursery Road, Sunbury.  Their Father and James Thomas PIZZEY were haybinders and young Richard was still at school.
