Pte George Ainley served with the Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. He was shot for cowardice aged just 20. Tried on the 28.01.1918 for incurring a self inflicted wound. Following him going AWOL several times, he was executed on the 30th Of July 1918. He is buried at Hagle Dump Cemetery. Like all lives of any war, such a tragic loss. Through a shared name you will always be remembered. Rest in peace Pte George Ainley.
