He was the son of Patrick Landers and Bridget Walsh. In the 1901 Census the family resided at Monksgrange, Tullaghmelan in South Tipperary. The Landers family originated in Cruan, Newcastle , Clonmel which is where my own Grandmother was born. John was her first cousin.
