Frederick William Varder was my great uncle (by marriage - his wife was my great aunt Bertha Jane, nee Udall). They had three children: William (born 1912, died 1918), John (born 1914) and Frances (born 1916). Frederick William Varder is shown on the Halstock war memorial. Frederick Willaim and son are remembered on a gravestone in the churchyard at Halstock, Dorset.
