Percival, I am not aware of the circumstances of your death, but, as a former member of the Lincolns myself, I am pleased to be given this opportunity to salute you as a brave officer who lost his life in the service of his country. I trust that the Guard of Honour at your funeral service fired the traditional salute to a fallen comrade. You were laid to rest in the Green Hill Cemetery, where 8 other members of our regiment were buried.  I understand that you were a member of the 6th Service Battalion of the Lincolns and would therefore have perished in the fighting at Suvla. In addition to your gravestone at Green Hill, I also trust that you were commemorated on your home town war memorial. My sympathy to your widow, mother and other relatives who mourned your sacrifice.  Rest in Peace.  Harry.
