Squire Buckley Liddiard  who died of wounds was promoted to Lance Corporal on the battlefield. He was the son of Squire and Ruth Liddiard who lived at 25 Bridge Street, New Mills, Derbyshire. Prior to enlisting he was employed at Garrison Bleachworks  and in his leisure time he played football with Hayfield Albion Football Club and had won Derbyshire Medals in the 1913-14 season.
