George, I am not aware of the circumstances of your death, but, as a former member of the Lincolns myself, I am pleased to be given this opportunity to salute you as a brave soldier who lost his life in the service of his country. From the report that you died in Le Treport, where there were three General Hospitals, a Red Cross Hospital; and a Convalescent Depot by mid 1916, I conclude that you, sadly, died of your wounds. I trust that the Guard of Honour at your funeral service fired the traditional salute to a fallen comrade. You were laid to rest in Mont Huon Military Cemetery, where 28 other members of our regiment were buried. In addition to your gravestone at Mont Huon, I also trust that you were commemorated on your home town war memorial. My sympathy to your parents and to other relatives who mourned your sacrifice.  Rest in Peace.  Harry.
