Edward, I am not aware of the circumstances of your death, but, as a former member of the Lincolns myself, I am pleased to be given this opportunity to salute you as a brave soldier who lost his life in the service of his country. I guess you had suffered a Blighty and if my guess is correct, had been returned home for your injuries to be treated. But, sadly, you must have suffered severely, since it was such a long time after the Armistice that you finally succumbed to your injuries. I trust that the Guard of Honour at your funeral service fired the traditional salute to a fallen comrade. You were laid to rest in Ipswich Old Cemetery, the only member of our regiment to be buried here. In addition to your gravestone at Ipswich, I also trust that you were commemorated on your home town war memorial. My sympathy to your parents and to other relatives who mourned your sacrifice.  Rest in Peace.  Harry.
