Riley, I do not know the circumstances of your death, nor why your remains were not recovered from the field of battle, but I can still salute you as the brave soldier you undoubtedly were, who died in the service of his country. You were commemorated on the Menin Gate, with many others of your comrades in arms. As a former Lincolns man myself, I know the sincere meaning of the Last Post, sounded in your honour by the buglers at the Menin Gate. My sympathy to your mother and to other relatives who mourned your sacrifice. Rest in Peace. Harry.
