Thomas, you must have been one of the earliest of the volunteers who joined the Lincolns on the outbreak of war. I am not aware of the circumstances of your death, but, as an old Lincolns soldier myself, I have not forgotten how to salute. I now salute you as a brave soldier who died in the service of his country. I trust that you were provided with a Guard of Honour at your funeral service, and that they fired the traditional salute to a fallen comrade. My sympathy to your parents and other relatives who mourned your sacrifice. Rest in Peace. Harry.
