I am sorry that I do not know your Christian name, but that will not hinder me in saluting your memory as a brave soldier who died while serving his country. Since your grave is at Suvla, I think it most likely that you were a member of the 6th Service Battalion of the Lincolns, who joined in fighting the Turks at Gallipoli during August 1915. However, the enemy were occupying the high ground, which put you at a disadvantage, and the fighting continued until your commanders decided that a stalemate had been reached, and all units were then evacuated from Gallipoli in January 1916 about a month after you and twenty more of your comrades had died. My sympathy to your relatives who mourned your sacrifice. Rest in Peace. Harry.
