John, I am fairly sure that, since your grave is at Suvla, you were a member of the 6th Service Battalion of the Lincolns who went ashore at Suvla Bay to help bolster the fierce fighting against the Turks at Gallipoli. Sadly, you were one of ten members of the battalion who perished on the 28th of November. I salute you all as the brave soldiers you were. My sympathy to your relatives who mourned your sacrifice.
