William Henry Johnson enlisted on 5th September 1914 prior to which he was a miner at the Pleasley Colliery. He was killed whilst fighting in the Dardenelles and left behind a widow and one child.  He was 32 years of age. He was a member of the Skegby Cricket Club and the Wileman Lodge of the Nottingham Oddfellows.
