John Symington Gray was born on May 08, 1895 in Bowden, Roxburghshire, Scotland to John Gray & Janet Armstrong (Riddell) Gray. He immigrated to Canada in July 1911 to settle with his parents on their farm at Harte, Manitoba, Canada. He signed up for World War One on Nov.09, 1915. He was killed in action at Vimy, France on October 08, 1918.. I am very proud to call this man my Great Uncle, even though I did not have the chance to meet him and thank him for what he had done to fight for our freedom.
