I am sorry that I do not know your Christian name, but I can still salute you as a brave soldier who died in the service of his country. I do not know the circumstances of your death, whether you were sent home to recover from wounds or for other reasons. Your regiment at this time was in the Balkans, so the Guard of Honour at your funeral service may well have been from another regiment. I hope they fired the traditional salute to a fallen comrade. My sympathy to your relatives who mourned your sacrifice. Since you were buried in your home parish, they would have been there with you at the end. Rest in Peace. Harry.
