Benjamin was the younger son of Edward (Ted) and Mary (known as Polly) Procter.

He first joined up in August 1914 - giving his age as 18 1/2 when he w as actually only 15. He was sent home after 21 days.

He died at age 19 in Northern France in May 1918.

My father-in-law, born 4 months after his death to the family next door, was named after him and he in turn passed the name on to his son.

Ben's only sibling, Edward, was killed in Gallipoli in 1915 and so with them their famiy line died.
