Harry was the youngest of four brothers who enlisted in the Kings Shropshire Light Infantry in Shrewsbury in September 1914.  They were the sons of Peter and Margaret Hancocks of Dorrington, Shropshire.  Harry was killed in the battle of Ypres on the 8th May 1915.  He was the uncle I never knew but his brother Peter (my father) never forgot him and his memory has lived on through three generations and I am sure will continue through generations to come.
