David was born on 19th March 1890 at 8 Union Street, Brechin, Angus to Jessie Ann Martin, a Linen Factory Worker.

He was a 23 year old Bleachfield Worker when he married 29 year old Catherine Reid, my Great-Aunt, in Brechin in December 1913. They had no children.

David was aged 27 when he was killed in Belgium.

Although his widow Kate lived to the age of 76, she never remarried.
