Frank was My Nan's favourite cousin. He had already served in Egypt etc earlier in the war. My Nan, when she was about eleven wrote him a poem about his life in the desert, before he was posted to France. His mother never really recovered from the shock of his death. His brothers served in the East Surrey Regiment.
