Lewis, I am pretty sure that you were a member of the 7th Battalion, from the fact that you are named on the Helles Memorial and from the date of your death. You landed at Cape Helles on the 11th of July, so you had little time to get used to the conditions there by the time the Turks attacked you in force on the 19th. You were one of twenty men who died in this fighting. I salute your memory as a brave soldier who died in the service of his country. My sympathy to your relatives who mourned your sacrifice.
