John, I think you were taking part in the attack on Suvla Bay Gallipoli, when you died, together with more than 250 of your comrades. This is indicated from the actual date of your death and the fact that you are named on the Helles Memorial. You were a member of the 7th Battalion of the North Staffords. I wonder if you ever met my Grandmother's nephew, Sam Wootton, who was serving in this same unit with you. Alas, he, like you, did not survive the war. I salute you as a brave young soldier who died in the service of his country. My sympathy to your mother and other relatives who mourned your sacrifice. Rest in Peace. Harry.
