William, The fact that your name is on the Helles Memorial, and that you died on the 10th of August suggested to me that you were serving with the 7th Battalion, and took part in the assault on Suvla Bay at Gallipoli. This was said to have been about the fiercest fighing that took place in the whole of the war, with much use of the bayonet by the infantry. I salute you as a brave soldier who died during his service. My sympathy to your family who mourned your sacrifice. Rest in Peace. Harry.
