My mother often spoke of Uncle "Bob" although I do not know whether she ever met him as she would have been 6 years old when he died.  She was thrilled when we discovered the whereabouts of his grave in Etaples and we promised her we would visit it one day.  We had arranged the date of our visit in 2006 but sadly my mother died unexpectedly three months before we were able to get there, and because she worried when we went abroad, we had not told her of our impending visit.  Our son and daughter and their families also visited the grave earlier this year.
