William, I first saw your name when I was transcribing the names on the Urray War Memorial. Your home address was recorded as Market Stance. I have no information on when and how it was that you were taken prisoner by the Germans, but to have died only six days before the end of hostilities in a German prisoner-of-war camp must have been a terrible blow to your family. Nevertheless, I salute you as the brave soldier you undoubtedly were, having died in the service of your country. Sincere sympathy to your relatives who mourned your loss. Rest in Peace. Harry.
