Son of John Bradshaw Isherwood, J.P., of Marple Hall, Cheshire; husband of Kathleen Machell, (daughter of Frederick Machell Smith), of 19, Pembroke Gardens, London. Gazetted York and Lancaster Regt., Jan., 1892. Promoted Capt. 1901, Major 1911, Lt. Col. 1915. Served in the South African Campaign; was present at the Relief of Ladysmith and the actions of Vaal Kranz, Tugela Heights and Pieters Hill (Mentioned in Despatches), and received Queen's and King's Medals with seven clasps. Brevet Lt. Col., 18th Feb., 1915.
