Son of Lily Allan, of 164, Almada St., Hamilton, Lanarkshire. Served in the Militia at the age of 18 and later joined the Territorials. Re-enlisted Sept., 1914. Wounded at Neuve Chapelle in 1915, and at the Somme in 1916. A miner.
